The Team

Restaurateur Michael Tenace has been in the hospitality industry for over 20 years. He knows how to make diners feel welcome each time. Michael’s passion for Italian produce and Italian wines makes Il Solito Posto a consistently great place to meet and dine. There is a certain urban coolness in Michael’s flare – obvious as soon as you enter the space.

In the kitchen Head Chef Nathan Morfett leads a small team of passionate and dedicated chefs. 

With over 12 years of working in Melbourne’s finest dining establishments, Nathan insists on sourcing only the freshest locally produced and sustainable ingredients possible. He is passionate about using traditional Italian cooking methods to deliver an authentic and rich Italian dining experience.

And of course, all of our friendly waitstaff and bar team will make your dining experience here at Il Solito Posto an enjoyable and memorable one.

The Ambience

Whether you are flying solo, seeking a romantic dining spot or looking for a great night out with friends, Il Solito Posto has an area that will make you feel comfortable and relaxed.

The Bar – a great place for singles and couples. Enjoy a glass of wine, some antipasti or even dinner and watch the action unfold.

The Caffeteria¬†– the engine of the restaurant. A more casual dining experience with an ever changing menu. Our Caffeteria is popular. It’s fast, busy and exciting. Seats 60 people.

The Trattoria Рlocated in the sub-sub basement of Il Solito Posto. This area is a more formal dining experience, however not over the top. Great for a nice night out. Seats 40 people
